Texas Christian University - Volunteer to help local charities.

 

University of North Texas - Volunteer to help local charities.

 

Texas State University - Every year as a club for the two week long Sights n Sounds festival in San Marcos where we volunteer and run the synthetic ice rink they set up for younger kids to skate.

 

East Texas Baptist University - Provides several volunteer opportunities such as:

Mission Marshall, the local food bank.

Works with the Mudbugs Youth Hockey Program.

Operation Christmas Child Pack where shoe boxes of items are sent to children around the word as Christmas gifts.

Provides a hockey clinic to local children  on an outside rink set-up in downtown Marshall.

Study abroad to Austria and Slovakia as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience in January.

University of Texas - Helps out with the Junior Stars Program and has donated over $500 of free tickets to youth players.

Texas A&M University - Volunteer to help local charities and provides youth hockey clinics.

 

University of Texas El Paso - Provides several volunteer opportunities such as:

YMCA/Fort Bliss Learn to Play Hockey Program.

Local Schools – events such as (Read Across America – attend different schools and read to classes, Red Ribbon Week – anti-bullying week at schools and talk to classes about sports and bullying, mentoring – help kids in classrooms with homework and school work, etc.).

St. Baldrick’s – child cancer research event where members of the team and coaching staff shave their heads to raise money.

Boys and Girls Club – attend events and mentor kids during them.

Science on Ice games – Schools attend games and learn the science behind the sport of hockey. As student athletes, the Miners, have found a way to combine their favorite sport while teaching students the importance of learning science. During the game, we will teach students about the process of creating ice, how hockey sticks are made and just how much rubber it takes to make a hockey puck.

Dallas Baptist University - Turkey Trot is a monetary donation driven event in which 100% of the money goes to the Dallas Habitat for Humanity charity. DBU hosts this event on campus and we participate as a team collecting donations and also making donations.

Operation Christmas Child is a program hosted by Samaritan's Purse to provide small gifts and hygienic items to children in need. Members of the team take care of at least one child and also donate time to prepare/pack and ship the gifts for others that have made donations.
