UCO Champions

One of the strategies that the Aggie ice hockey team uses early in the season is scheduling a top-ranked team to play in order to get some high-level experience before playing conference teams.

That was the case last weekend with the road trip to Edmund, Oklahoma and facing the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) Bronchos.  UCO is currently ranked at #1 in the ACHA Division I standings and are the reigning ACHA Men’s Division I National Champions. It would be a tough test for the Aggies, but a good learning experience. UCO took both games over the Aggies, winning Friday night 14-0 and Saturday night 10-0.

The Aggies now turn towards starting conference play with the University of Texas El Paso Miners coming to town this weekend for the season home opener. The Friday night game will be at Spirit Ice in College Station and the Saturday night game will be at the Sugar Land Ice Center in Sugar Land. There is also a Sunday morning game against Northwestern University at Spirit Ice, please see the schedule for game times.
