The Aggies took to the road, visiting the Pelican State and Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport this weekend to kick-off the 2017-2018 season against the Tigers of East Texas Baptist University.
The first game of the two game set saw the Aggies roar back to tie the game 4-4 at the end of the second period after a 4-goal outburst from the Tigers in the first period. The Aggies comeback fell short in the third, however, as the Aggies fell to the Tigers, 7-6.
The second game of the weekend showed a different Aggies squad as they scored the first four goals of the game and cruised the rest of the way behind a stellar goaltending performance from Christian Westerberg to get the first win of the season, 6-1.
The Aggies will take to the road again next weekend to face ACHA Division I opponent, Central Oklahoma Bronchos on Friday and Saturday in Edmond, OK.
